Life story

Life story

Arthur was the son of Charles and Anne McAnally. He was born in Market Hill, Co Armagh in Ireland. He became a bank clerk and married Alice Maude Margaret Maynard on 7th May 1867 at St Andrew's Church, Hove, Sussex. The couple had eight children, two of whom had died by 1911. It is not certain when Arthur left Ireland but he was living in Paddington, London in his 20's. Arthur and Alice moved to Worthing about 1902 and their home was "Barkwith" Tennyson Road in 1911. Arthur died at Albion House, Marine Parade on 10th April 1914. The cause of death was senile decay and cerebral softening. His son John was present at his death. Probate was granted on 16th June to Alice Maude McAnally widow, Edward Arthur McAnally surgeon and henry William Watson McAnally esquire. Effects £1678 18s 2d.
