Life story

Charles Taylor was born in Rochdale Road, Manchester, Lancashire, on 26 June 1855; he was the son of Jacob Taylor, Tea Merchant, 38yrs, and Catherine, 42yrs. Charles had 3 siblings, Elizabeth Ann b.1850, Walter b.1852, and Frederick William b.1859.

Charles studied law and qualified as a Barrister; however, no further records show his whereabouts until he marries in Worthing, Sussex, on 21st March 1907, aged 51yrs. Charles was a bachelor, his bride, Constance Lever, 41yrs, a widow with a young daughter.

In 1911, Charles and Constance were living at The Old House, Heene Road, Worthing, where he died on 15th December 1920, aged 65yrs. Probate was granted to Constance Taylor, widow, and Robert William Charles, solicitor, effects £10,353 6s 7d. Value 2023 - £592,000.
