Elizabeth Adams Harvie was born in 1876 in Paddington to Edgar Christmas Harvie, 35yrs, solicitor, and Caroline Mary nee Lewis, 22yrs. She had 3 siblings, Marion Christmas, b.1877, Hayter Montague, b.1879, Francis Graham, b.1880, and Edward Alexander Gordon, b.1887.

Her father was a prominent member of the legal profession, a partner in a law firm in the City, and they lived a life of privilege. When Elizabeth was 25yrs old, her parents retired to live in Worthing and she continued to live as head of household with two of her brothers in the family home in Paddington, all living on their parents' means, and employing 6 servants.

Her father died in 1910, leaving estate of £5m. (2020 Value) and she moved to Worthing to live with her mother at Norfolk Lodge, Mill Road. Elizabeth remained unmarried and she died on 13th May 1930, aged 54yrs. Probate was granted to her brother, Hayter M. Harvie, Clerk, and Julian Strode, Solicitor. Effects £4092 6s 8d. Value 2020 - £269K.

The Last Will and Testament for Elizabeth Adams Harvie was dated 23rd February 1932.
