Life story

Josephine was born in 1879 to Joseph and Sarah Woolley. Joseph was appointed Consul for Jamaica by the Queen in 1868; he was to reside at Kensington. He is described as a Gentleman. In 1881 Josephine is living with her family at 78 Cambridge Gardens, Kensington. Her Father is now receiving a retiring income from dividends. Josephine's Father died in 1884 in Kensington, and in 1891 Josephine is living with her uncle, Charles Ellis at Cavendish House Park Road, Chipping Barnet, Hertfordshire. In 1901 Josephine's Mother Sarah had moved to 24 St Michael's Place, Brighton. Josephine is back living with her Mother and Siblings. In 1911 the family have moved to 1 Belsize Road Worthing. Josephine died on 1st October 1913 at Edenhurst 1 Belsize Road of Addison's disease (disorder of the adrenal glands). Her Mother was in attendance. She left £3373 11s 10d (£198,980 in today's money) to her Brother Jasper Maxwell Woolley.
