Life story

Juliet Morgan was born on 6th April 1843 in Muswell Hill, Middlesex, she was baptised on 4th May at St. Mary, Hornsea. She was the daughter of Edward Lloyd Morgan, 35yrs, a stockbroker, and Katharine, 34yrs, she had 5 siblings, Katharine b.1837, John b.1840, Llewellyn b.1841, Ellen b.1844, and Constance b.1848.

On 28th May 1862, Juliet married Edward Rhodes Harrison, at Northaw, Hertfordshire; her husband was a metal broker, but ten years later, in 1871, he was living on an allowance from his parents. They had 8 children, 3 boys and 5 girls. By 1881 the family had moved to Manor Villas, Heene, Worthing, Sussex, and in 1886 they had moved to West End Villa, Manor Road, where Juliet was sadly widowed when Edward died at the age of 48yrs; she was a residuary legatee of her husband's estate providing she remained a widow. In 1889 Juliet's youngest daughter, Alice, aged 10yrs, died as the result of an accident.

Juliet was living with her married daughter, Mary, in 1901, in Huntingdonshire, and in 1911 she was resident at The Lodge, Addlestone, Surrey, where she remained until her death, on 6th July 1935, aged 92yrs.

Probate was granted to William Rhodes Harrison, retired surgeon commander RN, and Florence Jane Harrison, spinster, effects £8365 10s 9d. Value 2022 - £629,900.
