Life story

Life story

Kathleen was born in Clewer, Berkshire, the daughter of Arthur and Elizabeth. She was the sister of Herbert and Mary who are also buried at Heene. Her father was a cook who committed suicide in 1879. For details of the inquest, see Herbert Cullingford. As a young woman, Kathleen worked as a servant in Brighton. By 1901, she had moved back to the family home in Willesden. From then on, Kathleen lived with her brother and sister. The trio had moved to Worthing by 1924, living in Ariadne Road. They lived firstly at "Suncroft" and later moved to "Northover". Herbert died in 1935 and the two women moved to 7 Natal Road in Thornton Heath, Surrey. Kathleen died on 11th May 1937. No probate.
