Life story

Life story

Letitia was born in Clapham, Surrey, the daughter of John and Constant nee Crole. She was baptised at St Mark, Kennington on 18th July 1826. The family were wealthy and had moved to Brighton by 1837. For a while they lived in Brunswick Square before moving to Montpelier Road. John died in 1849 and his widow continued to lived in Montpelier Road until her death in 1878.

Letitia married Rev. Richard Nathaniel Blaker BA MA at St Andrew's church, Hove on  the 2 April 1846 and lived at Ifield Vicarage, near Horsham, where Richard was Vicar from 1850 until 1887.

They had six children and only one of them was a daughter.

They retired to St Margaret's, in Lansdowne Road, Heene and after Richard died Letitia continued to live there but she died in Clapham Common, Surrey, on 16 April 1906 leaving her Will to be administered by her two eldest sons, Harry Campbell Blaker , a solicitor, and William Campbell Blaker ,a surgeon, like his  father's father.
