Her end was peace" Grave location map Life storyLife story Mary known as Louie was born in Kingston-Upon-Thames, the daughter of William and Elizabeth. She was baptised at All Saints Church, Kingston on 1st September 1865. Her father was a cook and confectioner. By 1871, the family were running the Mitre Tavern in East London. At the end of the 1870's, William was running the Queen's Hotel in Ventnor on the Isle of Wight. His children assisted him in the day to day running of the hotel. The hotel was demolished a few years ago. Burlington Hotel, Marine Parade, Worthing In 1890, the family took over the running of the Burlington Hotel on Marine Parade, Worthing. Mary died at the hotel on 4th September 1890. She collapsed with an intestinal obstruction and died after suffering for a day. No Probate. William retired in 1895 and moved to Herne Hill.
