William Sneath was born in Clapham Common, London, in 1869, the son of William Sneath, Snr. 26yrs, Labourer, and Mary Ann Sneath, 28yrs. He was 1 of 7 children.
William was a general labourer in his twenties, and throughout his working life he changed occupation at least 4 times, from labourer to coalman to car man and finally to a carting contractor.
During all these changes he was living as a lodger with Joseph Overton and his wife, Martha, they had a different London address at every census over 40 years and eventually retired to Worthing, Sussex, living at Thornsley, Milton Street, in 1921. William never married.
Joseph Overton and William Sneath both died in 1925, the former in January and William on 12th October, aged 57yrs, unusually for unrelated people, they shared the same grave, with Martha joining them on her death in 1950.
