Life story

William Henry Warner was born in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, to William Warner, 45 yrs. and Martha Warner, nee Anderton, 35 yrs. William was baptised on 19th May 1846 at St. Peter's, Wolverhampton, he was the youngest of 5 children, Elizabeth, 9yrs, Sophia, 7yrs, John, 6yrs, and Charles, 3yrs. His father was a Draper and also a Magistrate and Alderman. William lived with his family until he went to Oxford, he was an undergraduate in 1871, and ten years later, aged 34yrs, he was a solicitor in Holborn, London., where he worked for the next 20 years.

In 1901 William was living in Worthing, at Littledene, Manor Road, with Catherine Amelia Warner. They married in 1904, in Worthing, Catherine giving her surname as Merington.

William Henry Warner, Gentleman, died on 19th November 1906. Probate was granted to Reverend John Prince Fallowes, Clerk, Rector of St. Botolph's, and Philip John Le Riche, M.D. of 96, Marine Parade, Worthing. Effects - £1531 3s 5d. Value 2019 £185k. His widow, Catherine Amelia Warner, was not mentioned.
