By 1861, after he retired, Francis moved the family to Worthing, living at Heene Villa (later Lodge) in Heene Lane (later Road). Francis died in 1887 and after that Ann seemed to move from place to place in Worthing always in lodgings. She lodged with the Peck family in Brighton Road on several occasions.
