Anna Glode Stapleton was born on the 19th June 1843 in Clapham London to James and Rebecca Stapleton (nee Bull). James was a Landed Proprietor which means he owned land. The family were living at the High Street, Clapham, London in 1851.

Anna's Mother Rebecca died in 1883, and Anna moved in with her Sister Castilia and her Husband John Osborne Roche at Wolborough in Devon. By 1901 they have moved to Broadstairs in Kent, then by 1911 they have moved again to Bognor, Sussex
Anna died on 15th May 1921 at Felpham Road, Bognor. She left an amount of £266 2s (£7700 in 2020) to Gilbert Stapleton Roche (Nephew). She was buried in Heene as her sister Castilia was buried there in 1919
