Life story

Mary Jane Hutchinson (Born Saxby) was born in 1838 to William Saxby and Martha Mitten in Battle. Mary Jane is one of Seven children. Lucy 1831, Joseph 1833, Ellen 1836 Mary 1838, Emma 1844, Martha 1844, and Flora 1855.Her father is a farmer of 47 Acres and has 4 Labourers working for him. In 1853 Mary's sister Ellen marries James Hutchinson and has two sons William born in 1854 in Hastings and Harry born in Worthing 1856 and living at 6 Little Heene in Worthing. James is a Master boat builder and an employer of 6. Meanwhile Mary Jane is working as a dairymaid at Lansdown dairy, Hove in 1861 In 1865 Mary's sister Ellen dies leaving James with the two children, But in 1866 Mary Marries James in the same church that James and Ellen were married and brings up her nephews and they have four children together... Ellen born 1867, Percy 1869, Lizzie 1870 and Charles 1872. The family are living at 6 Brunswick Road in Worthing through 1871, 1881. Mary Jane dies in 1884 in Worthing. Stepson William and daughter Ellen both settle in Worthing William is a boat builder and Ellen married a carpenter. Both Sons Percy and Charles become Licenced Victuallers, and both have establishments in Lewisham. Lizzie moves to Durham with her Mothers sister Flora, married a Marine Engineer. Both Lizzie and Percy raised a set of twins in their families. There has been no Trace on Son Harry after 1881. Marys Husband lives with Daughter Ellen in Milton Road Worthing for a while before living with Son Percy at the "Tigers Head" and dies at the "Salisbury Hotel" which is run by Charles his other Son in 1904. They were 2 miles apart in Lewisham.
