Life story

Life story

Priscilla was born in Scoulton, Norfolk, the daughter of Robert Michael and Elizabeth. She was baptised at Holy Trinity Church, Scoulton on 20th August 1853. Her father was a labourer on a local farm and Priscilla spent her life as a servant in various houses. As a young woman, she worked as a maid in London before moving to Worthing by 1901. Priscilla worked as cook for the Laishley sisters in East Mansion, Heene Terrace. After she retired, Priscilla lodged with a Miss Hanlon at 12 Shelley Road. She died here on 22nd November 1936. Probate was granted on 21st January 1937 to William Thompson (brother) retired timekeeper. Effects £512 5s 7d.
