Life story

Robert Parnham Cottee was born on 16th September 1843 to Hampshire born, cabinet maker, Robert Cottee and his tobacconist wife, Mary Parnham from Nottinghamshire.

Robert had 4 brothers, William, George, Charles and Henry and two sisters Sarah and Esther.

On 11 January, 1874, Robert married Mary Thorn in Battersea, Surrey. They had four children: Ellen who died as an infant, Louisa, Jessie and Ethel Victoria.

In 1901 Robert was a Licensed Victualler in Bognor.

He died in early August 1902 at 23 Rowlands Road, Worthing and was buried at Heene Cemetery, Manor Road, Worthing on 6 August 1902.
