Garrett O'Moore Creagh (buried 1923)

Garrett O'Moore Creagh, brother of James Creagh, was awarded the Victoria Cross for a deed recorded on 21st April 1879 as an army captain. The commemoration reads: 'With 150 men successfully defended and held a village against ten times that number until a relief force arrived'.

The November 1879 London Gazette announced that Her Majesty has been pleased to confer the Victoria Cross upon • Captain O'Moore Creagh, of the Bombay Staff Corps, for conspicuous gallantry at Kam Dakka, on the Cabul river.
