Life story
John Orrell Lever was a member of parliament for Galway and was the founder of the Galway Line of transatlantic steamers taking mail directly from the UK to the USA by the shortest possible route.
He lived for some time at 82 Heene Road Worthing, also at 4 Heene Terrace. Three of his daughters were married at Heene Church including his daughter, Constance, who married George Truefitt.
John was buried at Brompton Cemetery, London in 1897.
